HELP!!!! in FRANCE

Hey I'm in Sweden right now then on to Norway....and then back to Texas for one week before I head to the Crapone Festival in France. This case I have my LDG in on tour with me right now; will barely make it back to Texas. I'm inquiring to any French steelers; that might be at the festival, that I could possibly borrow a steel to play the Miss Leslie Show on the 23rd of July(my birthday BTW) and with Lucky Tubb on the 24th???? Any help possible?? I can play any knee lever set up..just has to be Emmons pedal set up. Please email me at
sshawaiian@austin.rr.com
I'm sorry to beg; but I'm begging....I have NO CASE and can't fly my LDG without one...and no time to have one made.
Thanks in advance..
Ricky

Hey Thanks again for looking out for me Crowbear....yes Let me know what you come up with; as I'm playing the 23rd and 24th.
Bobby; what do you have a case possbibly???
Randy; actually I DO have my LDG with me to Norway...we'll be on the train from Sweden on the 9th; and I'll see you up there brother....and that is mighty nice of you to offer...I somehow thought you played Day set up(I get your playing mixed up with Tommy White all the time...ah..ha.)...
A friend was very nice to lend me a case to bring my LDG in on this tour I'm on now...but I'm afraid it just will not make one more plane ride...and so when I land back in Texas after Norway on the 12th...I'll have no time to get another case to take my LDG> unless that is what my good friend Bobby is talking about??
But also; we are traveling with my baby Emilee that is 4 months old..and having one less HUGE heavy thing to carry to france; would sure be a lot easier.
So see what you come up with Crowbear....and thanks everyone so much for looking out for me.
Randy; I'll see you in a few days....looking forward to it..

Richard,
I may have a case around the shop that you can borrow to "get you by" until you can actually get what you want and/or need. I know I have one old case that a ShoBud will fit in because it has a D-10 in it now. However, it needs a little work done on it such as latches and probably a handle. Just maybe, between you and me and whoever else we can get to help out, we can make it work.

Ricky, FWIW, i ordered a case from these guys
http://www.reddirtcases.com/
and they told me it would be 6 weeks for delivery, well, they finished it in 4 days! it might be worth a call to see if they could rush one and have it ready for you when you get home. you can't be jetting all over the world with your steel and no case, man!!

Ricky,
Wish I could, but I can't help you out in France. But if you ever happen need a guitar anywhere around north Texas, my Sho~Bud is your Sho~Bud pal. I'll even deliver it to ya with a new set of Ricky Davis Jagwires on it. I play fiddle mostly, so I can hook ya up with a whole rig if ya need it. Vintage '65 Twin and all. Carp has my cell if you've lost track of of it, and, I'm in the book. 441 prefix.
Hope y'all have a great tour. Give the lovely and talented Miss Leslie my best regards.

Ricky,
I've got a red dirt flight case that fits a D10 Rains you are welcome to use while you get yours together. There is a fantastic case builder in Norway who plays steel. He made a flight case for me years ago that was the best case I ever owned. He also made one for Jeff Newman. I'm having trouble tracking him down at the moment but the Norway dudes may know who I am talking about.

Hey Bobby B. I'm trying my hardest to borrow a steel in France to be able to help out with my 4 month old on the trip; but I will yell at ya when I get back from Norway if'n I we need to piece one together, thanks bro.
Roar; thanks and no worries man...as I don't need a case in Norway; I have my steel with me and this case I borrowed will make it back to texas; just nothing after that. Thanks Bob H. and Bent for a great referal...I may call upon Roar in the future.
Johnny that is so awesome of you....heck I may take you up on that in August when we are at Pearl's....as I would love to play; probably the best sounding first year Pro II; that you have....and tweek on it a little for ya; as I'm sure it needs a little tightening by now??ha...
Dave I contacted this guys and they already contacted me back saying they would build a case for me and have it at my house by the 20th...WOW...good group of guys there. But I really can't do the expense right now; as you know how it is..ha...>thanks for that referal...bro.
Hey Crowbear; I've spoken with Marty Muse, and I believe we are in the same boat together; so let us know what/if you come up with something???
Thanks everyone....gosh I forgot just how great this steel forum and all my steel brothers are so helpful....thanks for the reminder...

Hey Ricky D. Looks like you have things covered.
FWIW, I have made an outer "case" out of heavy cardboard and it works great. In fact, I re-use it over and over once I make one.
I bet Johnny's Bud is a sweet guitar. Just make sure it's not tuned like a fiddle
Be safe brother!

I think Johnny's steel only has 4 strings on it.

Ricky: Like Chris,I built an outer case out of cardboard & pieces of skids one time when I was stuck in Honduras w/ a case that was coming apart. It worked so well I used it for a bout 2 months until I fianally got an Anvil case. You'd be suprised at what you can come up with when you have to.

Ricky - Maybe Bobby B. could keep your 4-month-old baby while you guys are in France. I hear he's great with kids!

Hi Ricky,
if your case deal should fall through, and the french local promoter would cover the expenses, I´d be happy to borrow and FedEx you my Ex12 Pro I.
If you prefer to take off the two lower strings, it´s a regular 10-string again....
I´m in Norway on that weekend, otherwise I would´ve come myself.
Maybe if someone from Western Germany is going down to see the festival, he could bring it and take it back again.
I would need it back by thursday 29th....
Good luck for your flightcase being delivered in time anyway!
