Interested in different takes on Amber's Expressions

I thought it would be good to get other's thoughts on Amber's facial expressions and her eye rolls, toward Dicky's playing while performing.

It brought back some good memories. I occasionally use to get those kind of looks every now and then, when a song would really grab me, and I'd be into it a bit too hot too. :)

Other's thoughts on it would be interesting to hear as well..........

I think she was rolling her eyes at the soundman, judging by the feedback at one point and the way she had to keep backing off the mic.

you are most likely correct, Steve.

I can tell you guys this (believe me, I know), Amber is nothing but ultra professional on the gig. She has genuine love for all her bandmates, she's easy going with a fabulous sense of humor and never ever exhibits any kind of prima donna attitude or behavior towards any of us. She is the most fun person to play music with that I have ever known. Performing is effortless for her (or so she makes it seem) but she never puts pressure on us or ever makes demands. She WILL roll her eyes at us though, Don, usually when we are goofing off. (we do that ALOT! LOL!) but she never means it in a mean way. She loves to laugh and we love to make her laugh. I can't express enough how highly I regard this lady! :)

I noticed a couple of things right off... Her voice is incredible!!!! And the steel player is equally as talented. Beautiful steel work and her vocals beat a lot of stuff coming out of Nashville as far as I'm concerned. I wish there was talent like that around this area. A very impressive band in my opinion. Oh.. and i agree. I think it was the feedback and / or sound man that got the 'rollin eyes" The steel seemed a little HOT in the volume department, but then again.. that's the way good steels should be.

Believe me, if you see Dickey live you won't have any trouble hearing him, but it's like when you got that first stereo and you sat there with a speaker next to each ear, you'll be drawn to go closer and listen.

well...since i'm the husband AND guitar player in this video...i can certainly set the record... ;)

amber is NOT rolling her eyes at dicky's playing...she is rolling her eyes at my inability to dial in the eq on the monitors, however... ;) ...i was having a tough day with the sound that day...and i just didn't have the monitors sounding as they should...you can hear the feedback...and see me trying to adjust in between guitar fills and guitar solos... ;)...at times, amber is also rolling her eyes at herself...she is a perfectionist when it comes to her singing and performance...whether it's the sound or her not feeling like she's hitting the notes the way she wants to...when something doesn't sound good to her...or in tune to her ears, she gets frustrated...as do most good performers...

and it's as dave said...and he knows, since he's amber's other steel player...amber is the consumate professional...i've never had so much fun playing music...and i treasure each time i get to do it...and also...there's alot about a band dynamics that the audience isn't aware of...amber and i constantly are kidding each other on stage...a little teasing, if you will...when we "flub" or something like that...that's part of the fun for us...

anyway...i don't know if that offers any clarity...or makes things even more confusing...ha ha!!!...

Not too many things harder or less rewarding than playing AND running sound.

I'm not sure it meant anything. Maybe she was having trouble with the first words of the song, maybe thinking of the price of gas (even back then). I don't think it had anything to do with anyone in the band. With those guys behind you, how could it? Of course, it could have been the feedback, but we will cut Randy some slack there. It's hard to run sound and play the gig at the same time.
