My wife is a new aspiring singer and has chosen karaoke cd's as a way to practice. She played a few songs for me yesterday and the steel parts blew me away. Whoever is doing the steel tracks on some of these songs has to be 1 st call pickers. They are stellar. Any of you play or know who plays on these tracks? Party Time Karaoke.

About 5 years ago Doug Jernigan told me one of his best clients is a Karakoe production company.

Up until about a year and a half ago, I did a lot of steel, dobro and slide tracks for a company called Studio K (Stellar Records)out of Fall River ,MA. All their country stuff is outsourced now. Don't know if any of the stuff went out the door under that name though.

Greg, our friend Joey is spot on. Tell your wife to purchase any of her karaoke tracks from "Chartbuster" karaoke. They have doug jernigan playing some fantastic steel on them. They are in the original key, and performed exactly like the originals. I sat down and talked to doug about doing "CD+G" tracks for chartbuster karaoke once. And his response was, "you mean people actually buy those?". Bobbe Seymour also played on some karaoke tracks, i have a couple. Great music despite what some people might say, and a great way to learn songs. Best luck to your wife with her singing.

Did any of those tracks get recorded with this old broken down Derby Tommy? Laughing Laughing Just kidding! (This guitar will never be for sale)
I wish I could find who did what. There is no info in the jacket or on their website.

I had heard but can't confirm that former steeler for Toby Kieth Johnny Helms did quite a few of them for First choice. I work a duo that uses a lot of Karoke CDs and seomtimes I think It's Johnny because I know his style. Johnny is a great player especially on E9th.

I bet you are refering to "Sound Choice". An accompaniment and backing tracks product by the "Slep" brothers. Recorded in South Carolina at their own studios.
Chartbuster products are recorded at "Big Mama's" recording facility in Seymour TN. Which i have visited a couple of times.

My guitar is famous. Thanks TB and thanks to all. I knew these had to be pros. Sounds like a good gig too if you can get it.

No Johnny lived in OKC at the time and would do them when TK was off the road. Can't remember I've slept since then LOL
