Two Songs from Two Musicians

Hugh Harris and I recorded these two songs in my home studio:
Cocoanut Grove
It Happened In Monterey
I'm playing my Desert Rose S-8 through the Pod XT direct into the board. The echo and reverb are built into the recorder (a Roland VS-1880).

Great stuff! I think you and that Desert Rose were made for each other.

Great job b0b...some of the best easy listening music I've ever heard on here! You tone is very good and your back up on the vocal was right on in my opinion. Post more like those.

Cocoanut Grove was awesome!
oops had to log back in after listening to Monterrey. That's a great arrangement and very easy on the ears. I think a whole album of this stuff would be great. Riders in The Sky have somewhat of a similar sound with the rhythm guitar doing the ......rhythm (no drums)! The steel chord comps are real neat and no clutter to mess up the steel guitar (I am very guilty of that).

Thanks for the compliments, everyone.
I learned something new when working out the solo for Monterey. The 3 chords at the end of the solo (G6, Gdim7, D9) use the standard C6th changes: P7, P5+P6 (up a fret), P5 (back down). This would be a two-footer on C6th, but it's easier for me because the P7 changes are on my LKR lever.

b0b..so very nice. The first word that comes to mind is "soothing".
It's funny, I just got back from taking my sister to emergency (no big problem) and Coconut Grove is the first thing I open on SGF..Indeed it soothed my frayed nerves. Better than any drug could have done.
Thanks b0b.

So, have your other guitars been retired since you got that Desert Rose? You seem to be so "at ease" playing it.
By the way, I've got the P7 changes on a lever, too.

I'm doing all of my gigs this year on the Desert Rose S-8. I use the other guitars for teaching, tabbing, experimenting, etc. at home.
