I'm with Bob, I'll never be Peavey free, they just have too many good products. I have a collection of Peavey stuff from an old '70's Session 400, up to a Powerslide, lots of guitars and amps in between.

I guess I have to ask as sometimes it takes me a few times to get it ...

Does being "Peavey Free" mean we are now in a better place ?

Does owning and using Peavey gear place us in a lower status ?

If so, why did it take 35 years to end the affliction ?

Just sayin'...

PV N400 and Classic 30 here , part of my arsenal of gear , proud to own them and use them.

Hey Bob, you sure didn't offend me. I don't have an actual list of my Peavey stuff, but probably my most cherished is a collection of T-60 guitars, and T-40 basses. I have a T-60 in every color offered from the factory, and I have a T-40 in every color I could find, possibly all of the colors they were offered in, I'm not sure. They aren't worth much since there were so many made, but they are worth a lot to me, sentimentally.

Tony,, I was talking about steel guitar stuff. I still own 2 Peavey MX guitar amps.
Over the years I have owned several Session 400's , 500's, Nashville 400's and Vegas 400's. Played a couple 1000's but never thought enough of them to buy one. I have had T60 guitars and more pa equipment, amps, mixers & speakers, than you could haul in a U Haul moving van over the years. I will say they are dependable. The sound is useable . I no longer have any Peavey PA stuff. Now using Crown, Crest, Yamaha, Dbx and JBL's. As far as steel amps I was more of a Vegas fan than any other. After buying my first Evans and Steel King I figuered it was time to thin the herd.
I know some would say " I can buy 3 Peaveys for the price of a Evans ". True! For me, I like the sound of a Evans or SK better. So I have let other folks have my Peaveys. I also have a old Music Man with 115 JBL, Worked over by Ken, that's very smooth.
Won't be parting with that anytime soon.
So Tony, the time had come to unload all my Peavey Steel amps. I used them for 35 or more years. Very Happy
The reason why it took 35 years, I was like a lot of others. I didn't believe anything else would sound hundred's of dollars better. But I was wrong.

I had a Peavey Classic 212 hybrid combo back in the late 1970s and it was a great sounding guitar amp. If I used the 'series' input it would grind like a Marshall, and it sounded wonderful with a Les Paul.

I've also played through the all-tube Classic 30 112 combo and Delta Blues 115 combo, and those machines can rock pretty hard too.

As for the solid state Peaveys, I've tried a couple Transtube series Bandit 112 combos, and they rock pretty good too if they're set right.

The only Peavey amps I can't stand are the 1980s solid state models with the saturation distortion and Scorpion speakers. I've played through a couple of them and they just don't cut it.

2 Nashville 400's with Fox mods.
2 Vegas 400's
2 Nashville 112's with Fox mods.
