Looks like Larry Sasser to me. Maybe the old Nashville Now band and singers. I think that's Fred Newell on his right and Hoot on the left twin fiddle. 8)

That is definitley Larry Sasser on steel. I have a lot of them shows recorded on VHS tapes and some of em have Hal Rugg sitting in for Larry Sasser,I don't know exactly why Larry was not on the show which was about the time that the show left the air.

Wimpy has got to be one of the most underated steelers. His delivery, tone and tasteful playing was and is wonderful.
Thanks for post, it bought back good memories of years gone by when country music was really country music.

I don't know who it is, but it's not BE.
The intro shows both hands, BE would have this pinky finger stretched out or wrapped under the 1st string.
Does not sound like BE either.
