Thanks to Jim Cohen, a piece for the original steel guitar album, Its' The First Time, is now on YouTube.
I would think that you can just type in 'It's The First Time with Jimmy Bryant.' This is the album that I produced in Nashville, Tenn in the mid-seventies which features 9 of the Hall Of Fame steel guitar players sitting in a circle in Harold Shedd's studio jamming. The order they were sitting: Julian Tharpe, Jimmy Day, Speedy West, Buddy Emmons, Hal Rugg, Maurice Anderson, Curly Chalker, Jimmy Bryant, Johnny Gore, Lloyd Green and Doug Jernigan. They were backed up by the legendary drummer, Louis Bellson and the great Nashville session legend, Henry Strylecki on bass. The song title is '12 O'Clock Midnight,' a Jimmy Bryant penned tune. You will hear lot's of great steel guitar with each players individual interpretation. It was a night I will never forget.....Several invited guests in the control room which included Phil Baugh. The feel in the control was electrifying with tremendous response when each player took their turn on the tunes. Lloyd Green was the only single neck player and he showed just why he is such a great legend. Speedy West with his slap stick style along with hi serious style proved just why he was so well loved by up and coming pedal steel players. Of course, Jimmy Bryant was typical Jimmy Bryant, pushing the steel guitarist to the edge with his blazing speed and our old friend, Johnny Gore, proved why we loved him so much in the steel guitar jams. There are a very few early presses that are not quite up to my liking so it is being redone. Anyone interested in one of those early presses can have them at $12.00 which includes shipping. The re-mastered cd's will sell for $17.00 including shipping or you can order them through EBay which includes the Ebay charges. Thanks and take a listen to this historic recording. The cover of the cd features the original union time card with all of the players signatures.
Great cd for your collection and listening pleasure.

Nice one Dave. I bought the original vinyl version when it was first released. Jimmy Bryant was absolutley on fire on the sessions, and it must have been great for all of the players to have Louis Bellson on drums.

Good luck with the venture.
