Has anyone tried a Yamaha DG Stomp for PSG?

Too many steels, amps & other stuff, and an open mind. I have tube amp bias.

No, but I used to own a DG100-212 combo, basically the same preamp plus power amp & speakers.

The tone was great for regular guitar and OK for steel; the clean settings very much lika a JC-120 and a Twin Reverb. But it suffered from latency – it sounded great, but the slight processing delay made my playing feel artificial and out-of-time. It just never felt right. Too bad, since the tone and build quality were top notch. Don't know if this applies to the stomp model, but I guess it would since it is the digital modelling that causes the delay.
