I sometimes need to double on guitar then switch to lap steel.
A keyboard stand works but most stands are just not tall enough to stand up and play, without hunching over and hurting my back.

Is there a model out there that any of you guys use while standing? I'm 5'10" not all that tall...

Dom, I have a ProLine el-cheapo, I think I paid $20 for it, that works good. It is 2 holes from the highest setting, and is 35" high. I am 5'9", and that suits me alright. Got it at GC.

BTW, I have a Dynalap, and a GoergeBoards acoustic steel. They both work on the stand.

I use one of these for my National D8 console steel... or my National Dynamic.

I'm 6' and it works great.

I put "industrial" strength Velcro on my stand and the bottom of my lap steel (the hard plastic "hooks" on the stand, and the softer "fuzz" on the steel), it's strong enough to pick up the stand by grabbing the lap steel. Seems to stopping it from slipping around.

I'm 6'3" and I haven't had a problem with standing up to a keyboard stand.

Don't know what brand I have, but when you find one I suggest putting some pipe insulation on the top of it.

Grips the guitar and pads it, and you don't have to stick anything to it. It costs like 1.50 or so at the hardware store.

Best of luck to you!
