BUZZ EVANS will cross the mighty Mississippi soon, as he travels east to appear at the 21st Annual MASSBASH. His guitar/steel guitar performances are phenomenal.

The steel guitar "oriented" DOOLEY AUSTIN BAND" will jump-start the event at 11:45 A.M., featuring a big favorite among steel guitar circles in the northeast; "Pete" Adams. Bandleader, and superb guitarist Bobby Sweet Jr., will be zeroing in on total sound, which will enable him to do what he does best at the "Bashes"- enhance the music of performing steel guitarists.
At noon, the builder of the "FESSENDEN" steel guitars, "JERRY FESSENDEN", will be introduced for his "set", by "CANNONBALL EXPRESS" bandleader, COREY ZINK, who will take on the M.C. duties for the day. Steel guitarists will continue to entertain with individual 30 minute sets, throughout the afternoon. 14 performances are scheduled, with a jam session to follow, and round out the event.

The "Berkshire Blues Cafe'", on route 102, one mile west of Mass. Turnpike Exit 2, is the place to be on Sunday, July 20, for enjoying a prominent display of steel guitar artistry; in some of its finest moments.

Fred J.,

Thanks for letting everyone on the forum read about your recent visit to where Buzz was performing. your reply gave me goose bumps!! I want to reach those who may not be aware of his planned visit, here in the northeast, on July 20th.

Myron L.,

Your adventurous travels, which are reflected in your messages, have a tendency, to create a longing for the open road. Your support for the "MASSBASH" has helped immensely in getting the"word" out to others who may not be aware of this annual event. Our goal for the past 21 years, has been to present the steel guitars, and the artists, to the attendees, in a manner, which clearly leaves little doubt of the instruments full potential. This year, Doug Beaumier's "MASSBASH" post is overflowing with talented steel guitarists. Doug's listing of a concentration of exceptional self-styled steel guitarists, is a preview of what the show is bringing to the "BERKSHIRE BLUES CAFE'". Restoring, and maintaining our bonding with the performers,as we show them our appreciation for their great efforts, will delight everone in attendance.

What a joy just thinking about the great talents who will be gathering at the "Berkshire Blues Cafe', in just 5 more days. The rush is on to get the word out to those who may not be aware of the level of talent, scheduled to perform on Sunday, July 20th.

I heard from some friends in Ithica, N.Y. today. They will be coming to the "Bash" on Sunday. They attended shows at the former Hinsdale Home Club, where the management welcomed steel guitarists for many years. Nancy always went all out to assist me in everything that pertained to putting on a good show. My good friend Hank Sohl from Florida will be in attendance. He sang at the show last year in Chicopee, Ma.
