I have a new-to-me non-pedal steel. 6 string. I have choosen to tune it to C6 to start out. Brand name=Aria.
I don't know what the little wheel does. It is located under the little metal piece that covers the strings at the opposite end of the guitar from the key head. I guess the bridge end. I turned it and I can't tell it did anything. Any ideas?
here is the bridge end of the guitar.
the little wheel thing is located between the strings. Here:
I'll add a picture of the guitar, that might help...
thanks. |

It's a blend pot like on the Stringmaster.Turned one way should give you just one pickup, turned the other way blends the second pickup in..Or maybe turned one way is one PU and oppisite way is other PU,and center is both.If you can't hear a tone difference then it ain't working. |

You got it! I have 2 Stringmasters - a double 8 and a short scale single 8. I can never remember which is the master pickup until I move the wheel. It really changes the tone of the guitar beyond what the tone control does. Go for it, but remember where you started so you can get back if you are unhappy with the results. |

the Bridge p/up is always on , the wheel controls a pot , which adds signal from the neck p/up to mellow out the tone , all the way down gives you the bridge only , it is not a true blend pot , it is wired in parralell ,if wired properly .Have fun.
