OH-Philharmonic includes the sound of the pedal steel guitar

Dover, OH - Saturday, May 22 − The Tuscarawas Philharmonic is presenting “Classic Country, Bringin’ It All Back Home,” with the orchestra in concert with Nashville musicians singer/songwriter Sarah Wynn (New Phila native) , champion fiddler Liz Langford (Dover native), singer/songwriter/guitarist Red Marlow and the OneNightStandBand featuring Rick Troyer of Hummingbird Music Studio, on steel, Rick Michel at the keyboard, Neal Frey on string bass, Rich Moore on drums and Jerry Sexton on guitar.

A Country Picnic fundraiser preceding the concert is being put on by the Philharmonic League, and is priced separately from the concert. The picnic, featuring Dante’s pulled pork sandwiches and the League’s homemade desserts, will be served in the Dover High dining hall from 5:00 to 7:00 PM., with the show beginning at 7:30 in the Dover High Auditorium. Thanks for the post Sherry and Tamara for the follow up.It should be another great concert. I felt I had the best seat in the house 2 years ago when we did the "Country Aires" program. Right in the middle of all those strings and woodwinds....WOW !


This year's show is to feature among other things an orchestral accompaniment for "Sleep Walk"with yours truly on steel. I can't wait to hear what they will do with that !


Hope you can attend. The 2008 show was sold out. In fact they put chairs up in the lobby! From which there was no way to see the Orchestra. Go figure. Get your tickets early ! --rick--

Rick,i sure wish i could be there to hear this but i won't be in the area till mid Aug,i plan on coming up to see you at the store and will bring my new g-2 in case a little jam might break out.i went to a fight one time and a hockey came broke out so you never know.lol .Have a great show Rick. .Rudy
