Yep/Just got it. Beautiful new Bright Red Carp Steel by Gary Carpenter of Rains Steel Guitars. Looks Great, Plays Great and Sounds Great. For all you old timers looking to lose a lot of weight this is it, 22 pounds on legs, 36 pounds in case and for sure not a beginners guitar. It is as professional as it gets. J.R.

JR, I also got my Carpsteel about a month ago.
I wanted a very light steel and got that. At 22 pounds it's no issue to move around.
I did have to put some dollars into getting it setup for my short legs. Also some of the rods, pedals and knees needed tweaking.
Jim Palenscar did a masterful job of replacing the stock pickup with an Alumnatone. It now sounds and plays very well. IMO the stock pickup does not have an inherent ability to sound good, regardless of right or left hand technique. It just does not put out. And the frequencies it does put out are lacking.
The work I had done was well worth it as it is now a very cool instrument. With a combination of the Alumnatone, a Goodrich Steel Driver and a Nashville 112 it now has tone, playability and easy portability.
