Altec Drivers for 811A Horns?

Post by Danny Hall »

I've been slowly acquiring a Voice of the Theatre set of components for the Garage if I can't sneak them into the house. I've got a pair of 416 woofers ready to recone ($117 each at Great Plains!) I just bought a pair of horns today of E-Flea for $117 + $80 shipping (the rat, if I'd noticed I wouldn't have bid)(edit> Hey, he's no longer a Rat. I asked politely and he refunded $20!!) Good guy! Anyway, crossovers are fairly common but I need the compression drivers. 802,806,807,808 etc.
I know you guys have been kicking around the business for awhile. Let me know if you've got an economical pair.

Once I know the horn driver impedance I can have the 416s reconed and either buy or wind my own crossovers.

Long shot but why not eh?

The Last of the World's Great Human Beings. Ok, well maybe one of the last. Oh alright then, a perfectly ordinary slacker.

The voice coils are open so you'll need to locate two replacements. Let me know if you can use these as they are. If not, maybe the photos will jog someone else's memory.
