Does anyone have the words to " Down On Ami Ami Oni Oni Isle"? Monday morning I intended to get on and off the computer to do other things, but had not had a look at SGF for a while, clicked on to the Coral Isle topic, then to a Hilo Hattie clip on the RH side, one thing led to another and I finished up watching " Song Of The Islands ", Betty Grable, Hilo Hattie, Harry Owens with a good shot of the steel guitarist playing acoustic. The sound was electric and the band had a reed section which did not show on the film. The volume was down, my hearing is not all that great, the words are very fast and I cannot lip read to get the words. My guess would be Ernie Tavares on steel, but I don't know for sure. More fooling around and Mail Call, Hawaiian theme, Bing Crosby, Harry Owens, Betty Grable, Les Paul Trio and Bing made a specific mention that the steel player was Eddie Bush.Somewhere I clicked onto " Kaimana Hila" hula, looked like authentic hula, they may have been Hawaiians but the playing was pretty rugged, scrolled down and clicked onto a beautiful thing in a 3 postage stamp bikini and listened to our own Bill Wolfgramm. So, how did Monday go? Great! Enjoyed SGF music just about all day. Trouble is, since then I have not been able to find my way back to try for the words again. Anyone help?
