I have a Classic 50 and it's great for 6 string, but you might want a bit more beef in the wattage department for steel use. It sounds good at low volume but breaks up quickly when you crank it. I feel that the Fender Twin is still the best double duty amp.

Classic 30's and Classic 50's are EL84 based tube amps, they have a gentle break up ( by design ) at around 4 on the volume knob. These amps are reminiscent of Vox AC30's and are excellent choices for guitars. Clean headroom good for a short period. Great for guitars maybe not so good for Steel, it's all in the preamps.

Fender Twins are extremely good for preamp headroom , that's why Steel players and Guitar players like them but if a guitar player wants "edge" he will need a stomp pedal of some sort, a reverse scenario.

Steel players like the N112 because they have by design clean preamps with lots of headroom. Personally I would not use one of these for guitars, others may, but they are not for me.

choices....

Not EVERY body uses a solid state amp for steel. I sent my '71 twin to Ken Fox and he looped reverb over to the "normal" channel, and blackfaced it for 6 string. The vibrato channel of course is my steel channel. Might not be everyones "cup of tea", but it works for me.
