Mozilla has released a new version of its new Firefox browser, bring the current version to 3.6.3, effective April 2, 2010. This is a security release, fixing one critical vulnerability.
If you are using any Firefox browser you should check for updates and either move up to the latest number for your preferred version, or get series 3.6.3. Although Firefox does check for updates automatically, there is no harm in manually fetching them. With Firefox open, click on the Help menu item, then select Check for Updates from the flyout options list.
You must restart Firefox to complete the upgrade. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

I have up grade firefox -- but there seems to be a problem I don’t
understand -- on some web site , clicking on sub headings , it will load
but then goes to what looks like computer language page with a Hot mail logo
at the top . maybe I’v been bugged , it seems to be the worst on the
Fox news web .
I'v tried deleting and download a new program -- still the same .
Any Ideas ???

I ask again for you to post a link to the page that displayed that code. Without a direct link to the page we cannot see if the problem can be reproduced in our browsers. Your sending the JavaScript code to me does nothing to determine if the problem is with their web page or your computer. A link to that page's URL is required. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

Sorry for the mix up - when it comes to computers , I’m the dullest knife in the drawer .
I’v tried to get the problem to show itself this morning and it appears to have vanished / repaired itself . so unable to give a link
What it was doing --( and not just one page or link ) - when you went to click on a news story it would load & then shift gears to the “Java “ script --- or what you said that was -- it was most prevalent on the Fox News web -- you could not use the site .
I guess its going to remain a secret as to what was going on -- I suspect it was on this end -- but , now days you never know .
Thanks anyway

I would like to have at least one link to a page that was doing that. It could be a missing comment tag that the Webmaster forgot to include in a copied and pasted script.
JavaScript code is interpreted by browsers and is used for various interactive events and menus. It is supposed to have a comment tag at the beginning of the code and a special closing tag at the end. If the beginning tag was left out the entire code would be displayed in your browser.
A link please! _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

I could not reproduce your error. I even tried disallowing all JavaScript, but no scripts were revealed. This could be the result of one of your browser add-ons. If you are using NoScript, try enabling the entire page temporarily. If the errant script disappears, it was NoScript blocking an uncommented JavaScript routine. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

If that's Adblock Plus, note that you can turn it off and on pretty quickly without disabling it from the add-ons menu:

I sometimes want Adblock Plus to be disabled. How can I do this most easily?
You can click on the arrow of the Adblock Plus icon in the toolbar to bring up the menu. There you have the option to disable/reenable Adblock Plus. If this isn’t fast enough, simply press the middle mouse button on this icon, it will also disable or reenable Adblock Plus.
In the menu you also have the option to disable Adblock Plus on a certain page. It will add an exception rule like @@||adblockplus.org^$document to your list of filters. You can find more information on exception rules in Writing Adblock Plus filters. |
If you go to the site a lot, consider adding the exception rule: right click on the ABP logo, hit preferences, hit add new filter, then for example.com/whatever.html just put @@||example.com and hit enter (notice I didn't put the page, just the domain, this makes the rule less specific so that it applies to all pages on the domain). |

Thanks John
I figured out some of that and have turned it off -- it appeared to correct
the problem , But , what ever it is is back . The only way I can get Firefox
to work is by un-checking “ Enable javascript “ in the firefox preference .
This problem is only with Firefox -- Safari works fine |
