"Lay down beside me"

Post by James Kerr »

Old one from the pen of Don Williams, recorded by others such as Kenny Rogers.

Played in C6, through my Vox Valvetronix Amp and recorded with my Zoom H2 Digital recorder.
Hope you enjoy.

James that's a great sound on the lap steel. You have it in your hands and heart...you put so much emotion into your songs.
I can't believe the quality of those little Zoom recorders...wow!

Thank you Bent, I used to play straight into the computer through a Midi Interface, but I found that a lot of the color and tone was lost that way. As you hear the Zoom H2 records faithfully what it hears coming from the Amp. It has three recording level settings, I use the lower and put it up close to the Amp, so avoiding any coloration from the room, or intrusion of street noises, it works very well and I can make a recording with one click.

I'm glad you like the playing.

James.
