I have a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus for powering a small pedal board. I want to use it to power a Peterson VS-II but am having trouble figuring out if I can do this. Is anyone familiar with the Pedal Power 2 and whether this can be done?
Thanks in advance. Boo |

It would be risky. My VS-II power supply has a 3.3V center positive output. The Pedal Power 2 minimum voltage is 9V and the outputs are negative center. There is a chance you could use one of the sag outputs turned down to the minimum and order or make a reverse polarity cable. That would give you ~4V positive center.
I wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't do it. A reverse-polarity adapter can be purchased (one of Visual Sound's One Spot line) for a few bucks, but the voltage is a problem.
Check with Peterson first to see if they have an adapter for it; the multi-voltage types from Rat Shack and other electronics stores are never exact voltage-wise (actually neither are almost all adapters!) but the big problem is they are not "switching" units and will add hum to he signal.
That's another reason to never use telephone adapters or swap-meet stuff; they are not intended for audio use and produce noisy ripple currents. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Contact Peterson and see what they say. They have a forum or you can contact them directly. |
