What a turn out we had this month. It was so good to see some of the members that have been gone for awhile back. Jimmy Hinson, Sam Hill, Willard Mullins, and Don Halsey. Good to see you guys back. Nathan Womble was there but forgot his steel I guess. It was so good to see Zelpha Ward still come, I know Ivan would be so proud of her. She sang Ivan's favorite song In The Garden. What a great job, Zelpha! I hope I don't forget all the other members. Tim McCutchen, Larry Garrett. Virgil Pittman, Donley Harrington, and Bill Peabody. Woody, I didn't see your steel either. Also thanks to Ray Qualls for coming down from Baxter Springs. Lynn Carney who is our favorite groupie was there too. Roger, our president had other commitments but we tried to carry on Roger. Also want to remind everyone to be sure to attend the June meeting as it is that time of year to pay our dues and election of officers. I heard rumors that whoever wasn't there got to be a officer. We missed Vance Monday not being there.

That always guarantees a large attendance in any organization!

What a great time was had Sunday at the meeting. It was good to see all the different steels also. Don Halsey had a beautiful black Sho-Bud Super Pro with wooden necks. Jimmy Hittson(sp) had an older MSA that just had a tone that wouldn't quit. Willard Mullen (Del Mullen's big brother) played his Mullen that Del built for him. Sam Hill had his new Carter that he just got a couple of monthes ago. Larry Garrett was on a LDG Sho-bud that sounded great. Virgil Pittman was playing his Zumsteel and I think Tim McCutchen has an Emmons. I played my SuperPro Sho-bud. Just a good variety of steels and they all sounded "Great". What a great club and what a great bunch of Guys & Gals. Gene, maybe some Sunday you can come to the meeting and show us how its done! Its just a four hour drive from OKC. I know they would love to have you as they make everyone feel welcome.

Ray, thanks for the invitation. I wouldn't be able to show anyone anything, but I know that I would hear some fine players at your meetings.....I may get things "in order" around here and surprise you by showing up there to watch over your shoulder one of these days!

Hey Tim, I'm sorry I thought you had an Emmons but I should have known that it was a Zum. You were sitting right next to me! Duh,
Gene, having you look over my shoulder would be like having Conway sitting in a chair in front of me listening to me sing! Haha You'd better bring your steel!!

I was sitting behind a Zum. Now whether I was "playing" is altogether a different question. It was great to see everyone who attended. Ray, it was great having you at the meeting. You added a lot with your great playing. It was wonderful to see Zelpha Ward at the meeting. When she sang In the Garden (Ivans favorite song) I couldnt see the strings on my guitar through the water in my eyes. What a great lady. I know she felt the love and appreciation that everyone feels for her and Ivan. Ok----Back to practicing.LOL. It hasn't done any good in the first 24 years but hopefully the second 24 will be different.
