playing chimes or harmonics

Post by Thomas Webb »

Hi

Can anyone tell me how to or where to find information on playing chimes or harmonics to be played as backup often heard in fiddle tunes?

Thanks very much

First you have to learn the technique. That's been covered before on the Forum......do a search in the Pedal Steel section and I think you'll find several threads on chiming.

My teacher uses the fingernail on his little finger to "stop" the string at the desired fret. So many ways.
