Steel Board Tuned Koto

I hope I don't get in trouble with this
one as it is way out there.

I made a Steel Board and put 12strings on
there tuned to the Koto Pentatonic scale.
This is within the last two weeks. I add
a mike on the brace under sound hole.(see pic)
Great for experimenting!
Bill Hatcher you can make one of these
with a pine board for less than $50 bucks.
It would make a nice portable 14 string
travel instrument?

One of the coolest things you have ever done here!! I like the sound of it so much!!

Your pinblock approach is also very cool. Have you ever wound any BIG strings on a pin set up...like .070 and up??

Great idea Roy.

Hi Bill,

I have not gone beyond a .070.
You have to drill the hole in the
pin to size..which is no big deal.

I should note that I inserted maple
under the pine on the pin end to
prevent slippage.

Thanks for the comments and chiming in.
