Roland Cube 60 Amp

Has anyone tried one of these small powerful amp's out on pedal steel? These are 60 watts but man are they powerful. Advise and Thanks...Bill

I have a cube and I like it better than my blues junior for the pedal steel. It's super clean and has decent EQ. Cheers, Jeremy

I bought one of the Cube 80 watt amps last year. I have gig that I play that's as a trio in a really small place. It's perfect for there. it really amazed me with the bass response it has. Not to mention all of the onboard effects and switchable channels. The acoustic simulator in it works pretty good as a dobro effect. Great little amps for the money.

I've got one and I love it! Sold a NV112 to buy it. I use it for steel and Tele. I also built an external cabinet with a 12" Eminence out of an Evans to go with it and the combination sounds great. The amp modeling works well and I like the delay a lot. Great amp!!!

HI, I like mine a lot. I have used it at gigs where I run two amps . I put the echo on the Roland and have my Nashville 400 dry except for a little reverb. I get the stereo effect which is nice. I have fun playing lap steel with the dynacomp simulation where the dirt gets grittier with more aggressive picking. Good amp for the money.

It's an extremely versitile, light weight, cost effective amp. Good tool.

I use the Cube60 for lap steel primarily. I play pedal, lap and fiddle in one band - so take an amp for each instrument. I tried to use 1 amp for all, but there are too many variables for good tone on each instrument. (and they are all small!)

So - the lap steel sings really nice thru the Roland! I take it to rehearsals and use it for guitar, steel, acoustic gui. or fiddle. It does quite well for pedal steel, and if done a few theater gigs with it when I can't easily carry all my stuff. IF Roland added a sweep mid - this amp would be a NV112 contender I think.

If it broke or got ripped off, I'd have to get another one, prob. the Cube80.

I call mine a "Swiss Army Knife" for all the ways I've used it with Telecaster, lap and console steels. Used it to amplify bass fiddle at one small gig. Used it at home as a rehearsal PA, with a mini-mixer and a 2nd speaker cabinet. Always travels to gigs as the "backup" amplifier, no matter what I'm using for a primary amp.

Is the Cube 60 still being produced, or has it been replaced by the Cube 80?
