Hi Guys and gals,
I usually don't ask much from the steel guitar community, but I'm asking for something this time.
Billy Phelps mother just passed away this last Friday. I called Jody and suggested that maybe we should cancel the upcoming meeting, Sunday the '27'th., out of courtesy to Billy and his family. Mainly because Billy and Patty and Billy's brother give so much of their time, efforts, hopes and themselves to the club and while they are in their grief, perhaps it would be the proper thing to do. Well, Jody called Patty and told her of our plans. Billy promply sent back a response and said "no way are we gonna' cancel the meeting,,,the meeting must go on."
Now,,, I'm asking all of you to show not only your support of the club, but to give your support to Billy and his family during this time of great need and friendship. Not only am I asking for your presence, but I'm asking you to call and invite a friend or friends to come too. Offer them a ride or whatever it takes to get them there.
This meeting will be our Memorial Service to Billy's mother. God rest her soul.
I thank you in advance and may God bless.
BB

At our last meeting Billy Phelps demonstrated the new 15" Eminence speaker as a replacement for the heavier Black Widow in the Nashville 1000 amp. It seems to provide equal, if not a broader tonal range than the BW, but it is lighter. Good music, fellowship, and shared technical info is part of the good of our group. Swap meet (garage sale) coming next month. You'all come.
