This is a paste of my reply to CMT for what it worth.

I am kinda out raged because of the lack of respect of some of the Legends of COUNRTY MUSIC. I noticed in your list of TOP 40 MEN. You don't have Ray Price a Member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, but instread you have the band "EAGLES" They are not together any more......Ray is alive..
"Alabama" is a group ..not a man .. I like Alabama ,but this not the correct place for them. "Elvis" was not Country .. He was R/R and is DEAD.
"Flatt & Scruggs" is a group and are not together anymore and they were BlueGrass. I personaly think your idea of COUNTRY MUSIC is not the same as mine. I am dissaponited in the direction you at CMT are trying to take
REAL COUNTRY MUSIC (just my .02 worth)

I will agree with the above, but also note..
If bluegrass ain't country I don't know what is. Old country sure, but country to the bone.

-------------------------
Elvis, well he wasn't truely country for much of his career, but he does have good country roots anyway. And Johnny Cash, Waylon and many other long time country singers started out doing the same stuff Elvis was doing in the begining... but without the swivel etc.

These days Elvis is practically only heard in country bars, Moose halls and assorted Dinner jukeboxes.

David , the remark I was making was not bad about Bluegrass music. I was talking about naming a group as a TOP 40 MEN in Country..Yes Elvis had a lot of country background ,but he was called "KING of Rock & Roll" Yes Johnny Cash, Waylon, Ray Price Any of the past Menbers of the Hall of Fame ????
I just think CMT needs a wake up call from John Q Public.

Hey Guys & Gals,
Just cuz CMT says it: DON'T MEAN ITS SO!
I realized that when they had their SO CALLED top 40 Female Country Artists List! They seemed to have left out some pretty good Gals also! Like if I remember right...Jeannie Seely, Jan Howard and Jeannie Shepard were not among CMT's IDEA OF COUNTRY GREATS?????????
I mean COME ON CMT........someone ought to go over there & KICK SOME ASS!!!!!!! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED of themselves.........RAY PRICE IS IN THE TOP THREE FOR SURE!!!
I don't know about you guys but I'm enjoying the CURRENT CMT less & less these days?
YA GOT ME STARTED!!!!!!!!!!
