Several of you who were at the Siloam show have asked about our schedule so here's the next couple of dates.....tonight, April 18th, we'll be at Barto's in Frontenac, Ks. Barto's is a family style restaurant that serves a special fried chicken recipe that has survived from the mining days...good stuff. And then, on Sat April 19th we'll be at the American Legion in Pittsburgh, Ks with a great bunch of folks who are loyal to us at Barto's. Fri April 25th we'll be back at Barto's and then on Sat April 26th we'll be at Cowskin Prairie in Grove. Also, when you catch us at the Moose in Springdale, Ar, the Sunday evening starts at 5 PM and that is our musicians night so if you're a singer or player you're invited to come. We've got a great bunch of guys...the father/son team of John Buffington from Owasso, Ok...JB Jr. on steel and Trey on rhythm..Joey(the hoss) Adams on drums, and John and I on our instruments and vocals. When you come out to see us, don't plan on hearing anything new..if you like new country, you won't like us...save your time...and don't ask for rock and roll...you wouldn't ask Roy Acuff for Freebird..BUT, on the other hand..if you enjoy Ray Price, Faron Young, Johnny Bush, Mel Tillis, Darrell McCall, i.e. Texas style four four shuffles, you'll be in hog heaven. Buffington describes this job as a steel players dream and it's because of the material we do and, oh yeah, we got a guy who sings pretty good and some old man that helps out. Come out and support "our" kind of Country. Thanks. |

Just wanted to add a comment, we traveled up to Pittsburg last Saturday and man it sure was worth the drive, this is a great band if you are in the area and the dance at the American Legion went goes to a good cause, they will be back there on May 31st, so come one come all you sure won't be disappointed, its well worth the drive and we plan on going back in May hope to see everyone from the 4 state area there, if you are unable to see them, they will be playing at the Oklahoma Steel Guitar show on Memorial day weekend in Tulsa, OK, need to come listen to John Buffington play Last Date, he does a excellent job one this, or listen to Larry and John sing they are great..!! Just a note to say thank you to Bill and his wife for driving up from Arkansas (dodging some nasty storms - tornados) to be with us this weekend. We appreciate and look forward to them being with us again real soon.

I'd just like to say ditto re: Mr and Mrs Bill Edwards..what a neat couple and loyal at that. They had quite a drive and as John has already said, the weather wasn't the greatest. They danced their boots off on practically every song...these are the kind of folks with a committment to traditional country music who are going to help keep it alive..Thank you Bill and Mrs. |
