My good friend Chris Kennison played an amazing set of steel guitar music on Saturday at the Dallas fest. His music was heartfelt and beautiful. Hopefully someone taped it.

How awesome to be around such a great group of guys, who happen to also be great musicians.

Mahalo Gerald! Could not have done it with out you. We did a duo presentation with Gerald on the guitar, and it was a very relaxed and simple way to present the sounds of the steel - I think we try it again in Joliet?
I had a great weekend! I finally got to meet a bunch of great folks that I've only talked to on the forum here. I had the pleasure of playing bass for a few sets including Mike Neer, who is a fabulous steel player. And then Herb Remington in Red Kilby's great set, and some guitar with Gerald on his set.
Mike, love your playing - see you in Joliet
Red, good job buddy - he had Herb, Chuck Lettes and Scotty all up on stage at the same time. What fun. Pete Mitchell (Ernest Tubb) sat in too.
AND - guess what? I won the SD-10 'Star' pedal steel yesterday at 2pm !!! It's georgeous! What a great weekend.
Thanks Jeff and Howard for setting up the non-pedal sessions! and thanks all for a fun time!

Hi Chris,
It is always good to see and hear you. It's funny that I see you at these steel shows more than I do when were in Colordao. I look forward to talking with you again at the Denver show in July. Congratulations on your new guitar.

Congrats Chris!
I wish I could have made it, but Cakewalk has been keeping me chained to my desk for the past couple of months. I am definitely doing Joliet again, though!

I'd eat a goat spleen if I could play that Bigsby guitar!

That was a beautiful sounding Bigsby, and Pete really played it well.

Sounds like you've been to the Sheraton before and had the lunch buffet. Several people reported getting food poisoning there.

I really enjoyed your sets Chris! My favorite was
Indebted To You .
Bookends was also really neat. Thanks also for coming to the rescue and playing bass at the spur of the moment!
Congrat's on the guitar!! How cool!
