Hey all,
I will be setting up next to the Goodyear racing slick (as in days of yore) at Hank's Saloon tonight, backing up the handsome and talented Christian Gibbs. Hank's is on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Atlantic. Check out some of C.Gibbs's music on the Rubric Records site(www.rubricrecords.com). We're playing with the equally handsome and talented Jack Grace band, things get underway at 10PM or thereabouts. Tomorrow night, I'll be subbing for the great Bob Hoffnar, playing steel with the Lonely Samoans: surely New York's only country band doing Gram Parsons style jams sung in a heavy Japanese accent. Really great songs, a fun gig. Saturday at midnight at Arlene Grocery, on Stanton Street on the Lower East Side. Would love to see some of my keyboard/walker/cheese grater playing friends there.
Best,
Gerald |

Hey Gerald, man---really really good to see you. Your sound is gorgeous. The word that sticks in my head is 'lush'. (Not as in 'you are a....' but as in 'you sound.....'
Beautiful rig.
And how about Jack Grace's steel player?! Drew Glackin on 6 string Magnatone lap steel. Knocked me out! Took me to school. Great night all around. |
