I am moving up to Alma, MI in the fall, and I am wondering where to go and who to look for in Central Michigan. Any good honky tonk acts to check out? Steel players? Good music in general? I'm guessing that the Lansing area would have the most to offer, but any tips from those of you who live in or have traveled through this area would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tho't about.............?

The Steel Guitar King of Northern Michigan is a likely candidate for being 'inside the loop'......
Gerald Ross.

Personally, I'd check with him if I was in need.

Get in touch with Danny Hullihen.
He's a great player, and he also
operates Jag-Wire Strings.
He's about an hour above where
you're going and, as they say,
has his 'finger on the pulse'
of what's going on.

Hi Brian... look up the "Dusty Chaps" band and the "Beveridge Bro's." in the Grand Rapids area!
Dale (dusty chaps) Thomas toured with many great players.
Including Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown! Good Luck!!

I play pedal and non-pedal in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Kalamazoo, wherever. I'll be @ Wheatland again this year in Remus, giant folk festival west of Mt. Pleasant.

Click tour on my website www.drewhoward.com.

I play with Deiliah Dewylde a lot.
