And its awesome!!!
This was my first ever point to point project. When I finished wiring the thing worked perfectly - really quiet noise floor and really loud amp for how little it is.
Here are pics - not the greatest since I only have a phone for a camera these days, but I will post some video somewhere after I get back from my weekend tour:
This is after my first night of wiring. I spent a few hours this past sunday drilling out the aluminum chassis and mounting everything.
this is the amp about halfway done - gives you an idea of how small this little thing is
All wired up:
This is the amp right after I finished wiring and put the chicken head knobs on:
Testing voltages - all good! 444.44VDC on the filter cap, and its pulling about 40mA while idle. Perfect!
Rear shot showing the little speaker:
All that noise from such a tiny amp!

Great looking machine and I see you have some ports in the front of the cabinet. My favorite all around amps are the Champ and the Deluxe Reverb.

Cool project Tim. I have found building amps to be a very rewarding past time. I have all the guts & cab on order to do a 6G16 Vibroverb. I should be getting started next week.
Keep meltin' that solder!

Good job Tim, it's fun, isn't it. I get a kick every time I turn on my last amp build. Think I'll start a "Deluxe" clone next, but I'll buy a Weber chassis again. |
