I played a retirement center gig yesterday with a Rythum Guitar/Singer & me on Steel. A real fun gig.
Question: Is there a small mixer we could use for the
mic going threw the rythum amp that would work well
without feed back Issues? We are trying to lighten the load with out extra PA Equipment for this type of playing.
Thanks for your Imput.

Many accoustic guitar amplifiers have a second channel with separate EQ and effects for a mic, and basically exactly what you want. My wife has a Behringer amp that has that.

Feedback is more than a mixer, it also involves placement of the speaker in relation to the mic. If you have the mic in front of the speaker you will get feedback. There are some high end systems with anti-feedback systems that will minimize mics in front of speakers but that is not what you want for the type of gigs you have.

Hereis the Behringer she has at Musicians Friend:

I have several amps with effects loops, this is perfect for pluging in a mixer so it only goes to the power amp section. There are also many amps with cd/aux inputs that would also work great. The main object being to avoid going through the pre-amp section with tone controls and effects. This will muddy up the signal from the mixer.
