I'm looking at a 1955 fender champ with legs. It is in mint condition, all parts original, and original case looks great. The price is $700, is this a good price. Does anyone know the price of this guitar when it first debut.

If it has legs it's not a Champ, as far as I know. It could be a Deluxe 6.

Maybe it's a Fender "White"? mid/late 50s, looks a lot like a Champ... with legs.

Might even be a "studio deluxe".

$700 sounds like a reasonable price, especially if it's in mint condition.

Woah.... The Guitar pictured above is a Studio Deluxe it is not as valuable as a Deluxe 6. A 1955 Deluxe 6 would have two pickups like a stringmaster.

$700 seems a little high but not too bad for a minty Studio Deluxe. I've seem them sell for $900. That would be a good buy for a mint Deluxe 6 however!

I own a Studio Deluxe, White with legs a Deluxe 8 and a Champ.

Thanks guys for all your help i think i will buy the steel. Hey rich do you think you could post a picture of the deluxe 6, i would like to see one. I'm new to the steel world, i've been playing on a cheap rouge. Its time to move on. I would like to buy a steel that won't lose vaule when i walk out the store, plus if i need to sell it i will be able to. I see fenders sell like wild fire.

I have a Deluxe 6 from the 60's that really has a growl. As stated before the Deluxe 6 has two pick-ups like the Stringmaster. I use mine mostly for Rock and Blues and sometimes use either an overdriven amp or my Rat box. It'll scream. BTW, I got mine for $75 back around '83. One of the better deals I've ever made.

Devin, I actually have a Deluxe 8. Here is a pic with the Deluxe 8 in the rear/right and the Studio Deluxe in the front/left.

The Deluxe 6 would be indentical but with only six strings.
