Does it fit

I am one of those people that cannot go to a steel show and try other guitars. They are all about 2" too tall, most are set up with either Emmons or Day set up on the floor and raise/lower 4 & 8 on the left knee. About all I can do is mess around on the C6th neck and even that is different from what I use.
This brings up my point to beginners: Does it fit? That is a very big problem in learning. I have been told many times that you have to learn on the standard set-up. Well check the set-ups of some of the greats........! Point is make it fit!!!!!!!!!!
