I'm considering reproducing a few Sho Bud D-10 end plates. They would be cast like the originals. Looking to see if there would be any interest in an item like that here on the forum.

David, I'm thinking it would be a worthwhile project.
The traffic for them may be slow and you may have to sit on them for a while, but sooner or later you'll move them. In my little corner of the world, I see broken end plates once in a while (different makes).

David,

In the last 2 years I have re-done 3 Bud's, a Professional, a Pro II, and a Pro III. I have another Pro II working now.

I would have bought new castings on each if they were available. Originals are porous, and just a poor alloy to work with, especially if oxidised very much. I probably have 10 hours in each guitar for sanding starting with 100 grit, 400, 800, then 1500 and off to the buffer for another hour on each casting. You still end up with a marginal result. Pedal bars and pedals are a different alloy and clean up easily.

I know James Moorehead and Jimmie Martin are bringing some of these old girls back to life also.

There is probably a market.

Dave
