I just spent quite a while watching and listening to some great stuff from Jim Lindsey, and I have to say, the Man is awesome. I was just blown away on tunes like Way to Survive, I love you because, and sweet memories. After hearing Jim on Sweet Memories, I may never play the song again. Take the time to listem to Jim's Tubes. Jim has to be One of the best unsung hero's of Steel Guitar. Thanks for reading this post, and thank you Jim for the music.

Wow, Larry ... I don't really know what to say other than a very humble but sincere, "Thank You". That was very nice and means a great deal to me. Thanks most graciously for your comments. :)

Jim, you are most welcome, and I meant every word of it. I hope some of the steelers on the Forum here will go listen to your stuff. They will not be disappointed. See Ya in March. Larry B.

Jim,
A beautiful job. I'll bet that "Papa John" was smiling down on you while you recorded it. I'm sure that he would put his stamp of approval on it. Please do some more.

Jim,
I just watched the link to "Sweet Memories." Wow,
very nice work, sweet! You have a beautiful touch, nice tone, and a nice vibrato, an excellent rendition all around. I even heard a little "Hughey" being channeled in...

Jim, I watched several of your videos, and I agree with the rest.
You totally blew me away. Your playing is as great as the best.
I'd be happy to be able to play a small fraction as good as you do.
Hope you'll be adding more of that great picking real soon. :) :) :)

Larry J. & Carl,
Thank you so much, fellas, for your comments. They really mean a lot and are sincerely appreciated.

It's kind of a funny thing about the Sweet Memories tune ... I went back and looked at the video to refresh my memory on what I'd played and suddenly remembered two vital things when I saw it ... first, the blazing nuclear hangover that I had while I was trying to play it (I'd just had my first experience with beer the night before; a beverage that I'm convinced is not quite my cup of tea), and second, that I'd promised in the written narrative to do a finalized version of it. I may tinker a little with it and try to do another one soon. :)

Thanks again, most graciously, for your comments.

Dan & Larry,
Thanks so much, guys. It'll probably be awhile before I try tinkering with the Sweet Memories tune. I haven't been playing much steel lately because, at the risk of this sounding laughable, I literally tripped on a sidewalk crack, took a spill and sprained my right hand. It's kind of thrown me into a little setback where my playing is concerned.

Ron, thank you so much for your comments. I really appreciate them and I also appreciate your playing very much. Your videos have absolutely knocked my lights out and I thoroughly enjoy them through and through.

Jim, I'm late seeing this thread, but that was totalling amazing. You are playing with sooooooo much "FEELING" ... not just picking the notes. I'm so glad I watched that :)

Thanks so very much, guys. :D

Bent, thanks ... the swelling's gone down now and though the sprain is still pretty tender, I'm going to try some steeling this evening. I'm having steel guitar withdrawal symptoms.

Micky & Jerry, thank you so much. Your comments are deeply appreciated. :)

William, the feeling is mutual, my friend. It's funny you mentioned me getting an Emmons again because I was just talking with my buddy, Daniel Arcuri, today and he said exactly the same thing! I mentioned wishing that I could get a second Mullen guitar to start gigging again and he said, "Aw, man, I actually see you sitting behind an Emmons as your next guitar." :)

Jim. Been playing at it for 30 years now. Got some chops but what you do seems unique, at least to me. I know you play a Mullen, myself a Rittenberry. Just a cool sound you have. Will you ever come out with instructional material? Thanks..CG

I recently became acquainted with Jim. He is a fantastic picker and a super guy to boot. I called him and we talked like we had known each other since we were kids. I consider him to be another friend who loves to play and talk steel guitar.

I know this is an old thread, but I just have to say I couldn't agree more. Nothing I can add to that, except to say let's continue to pray that Jim recovers and rehabs from his stroke and is back playing steel reallllll soon !
