Who make longer scale fretboards ?

And what lengths are used ?

I am thinking I have seen 25 " on some Sierra's and maybe a BMI . I think 25 1/2 on some Excel .

Any others available ?

Any builders who will sell them ?

Any custom made ones available at longer scales ?

Thanks for any help. Scott

I got my keyless tuner yesterday and will be able to go to a 25" scale on this project.

I still need to find a 25" scale fret board . Prefer colored markers and the stick on type. Open to desin .

Scott,
Why don't you find a local carpenter to build you a thin wood fretboard and put whatever stick on markers that you want on it ? ...... or get a piece of plexiglass and add stickers that that .....Many ways to build a fretboard for pedal steel ....They are only markers , and you are not adding actual metal frets ....Sierra has a 25" scale as you said .....Jim

I have given it some thought and not ruled that out . I have also thought of removing the current one and using black , automotive pin stripe tape to line one out using a template from Stewart-MacDonald . Then adding stickers . Depends on how the mica looks after removing the old one and cleaning up the leftover glue / tape.
I think Lamar uses inlay on a thin board , best I remember from when I talked to him. This is another older MSA , White Mica and I was looking for a just peel and stick if I could . The ultimate would be if some one could stretch a MSA one to 25" . This one is old enough that the MSA and Classic where decals and they are gone so it is not a big deal as far as design. I do like the chess markers very well.
I have contacted Scotty and Jim Palenscar today.

Scott,
I'm wondering if you could find some pick guard material ...You know , the stuff that has layers of white/black/white and other colors too .....You could have someone take a dremel and route the fret lines in , and then add stickers to the surface .... The scale always remeins the same, but the stickers could be changed anytime you wanted .....Jim

Just got a email back from Jeff at Show Pro . He has a few 25" scale . I am getting one on the way.

Another thing I thought of is a piece of actual mica . Black or any color could be used ,add designs to taste .

I'm a luthier (professional, full-time) and I (or most any local luthier) would be happy to make anyone a longer scale fretboard. Home-made boards will look home-made. Hire a pro!
