Depending on what connections you have on both devices, see if you can use an S-Video cable to interconnect the computer and TV.
Modern LCD and plasma TVs have HDMI and often VGA connectors, which are found on most current video outputs on computers.
You may have to buy a converter cable to go from the PC's video out to the TV video in. Best Buy is good for such things.
Once you find the right connector cable you will need to obtain one that is long enough to reach from the computer video output to the TV input jacks.
Once the TV is properly connected it must be discovered as new hardware by your computer. This will cause the TV to have a device driver installed and it will appear in a list of available monitors, under Display Properties. You will have to switch the video device to use the TV as a monitor, then set the best aspect ratio and screen size.
If your video card cannot redraw lines fast enough to keep up with action scenes, reduce the number of colors. This may help speed it up a bit (actually 16 bits) _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

If you want an HDMI (digital) interface to the TV the best option is a Video card that has it's own sound "card" built into the Video card. Then it will provide both the video and audio via the digital HDMI interface. I have an ATI Radeon HD4850 video card that does that.
There are other Video cards that will output video and audio via HDMI that do not have their own audio and those usually need an S/PDIF connection to the video card to provide the audio. |

I used a manual AB box for my parents.
They only had a vga output and
didn't need computer when watching TV.
For a long run, you can get get
a VGA to RJ45 converter and use
regular CAT5, 6, or whatever.
Not really sure how long a run
you can send the VGA signal
before pumping it back up. _________________ Joe in LA
