Hi Andy, Thanks for listening. It would be cool if you and several others would do a version of this little tune too. Its an easy song to play and I'm sure we'd hear many different styles. That would be fun.
On a different note, it strikes me kind of odd that as of now 34 people have viewed this thread but only 5 of them downloaded the song. I don't mind if people choose not to comment but why are they choosing to not even listen to the song at all? What do you suppose they're reading in my post that makes them not want to listen to the recording? I have to wonder.

I have a friend in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada
who built a Lap Steel from an old log..and that's
what he calls it the "Log".

I wrote Chicken On A Log for him and later put
it on the Forum where you picked up on it.

Interesting to me how and why it caught your intention and did such a fine job in tailoring
your ideas within your arrangement.

The tuning you used B6/G#7 as stated in your
original post..I wonder if you would spell it
out for us.

JB's tuning, down a half-step? What guitar were you pickin' (peckin'?) with?

Seems like some people want to browse through the Forum without having to encounter actual music....don't ask me why. I doubt it's anything you said.

Stephan, Thanks for the compliment. The guitar I'm using is a square neck, Regal resonator guitar with a pickup mounted on the cone just under the strings like a steel guitar would have. This means the sound of the strings reaches the pickup before it reaches the resonator so very little of the reso sound bleeds through. So basically its more like a steel guitar than a reso. I bought this thing used about 6 years ago and the pickup was already on it. I'm a PSG player but right now I'm in Asia vacationing and I could not bring a PSG with me so I brought this Regal reso and my Mac laptop with GarageBand. Truth be told, I love this old Regal reso and I love playing without pedals. Thanks again, Don
