Nashville steel guitarist

Post by David Evans »

I just got back from my second trip to Nashville in as many months,I'm hooked on Broadway!I was wondering what a rough estimate of available steel guitar players there are in Nashville. Some of the ones I've heard are Tommy White, Terry Crisp,Paul Franklin, Doug Jernigan ,Mike Sweeney,Tommy Butler, Carco Clave, and others that I can't recall their name. The whole Broadway music scene is fascinating to me.Someone should do a documentery film about it.I primarily went to see Amber Digby at the Midnight Jamboree. She was playing with some of Loretta Lynns ex band members.I can't recall the steel guitar players name but he was great.I love the place so much I keep my radio on WSM even though I live 550 miles away and can barely pick it up!

His name is Bob Hempker. He was Loretta Lynn's steel player in the 70s, I think.

I think Dickie is Amber's step-dad. He is a smokin hot player.

It was a great show. Bob Hempker kept my attention, as did all the players. :)
