I'm thinking about picking up a kappalite. I believe the evans amp uses them now. Should I get the LF version (from what I understand that's a bass speaker). The LF looks to have a ridged cone, which is not what appears to be on most amps I'm seeing steel on.

Well, I thought I could help you out, as I use a Kappalite speaker with my Vibrosonic, and it sounds great and is much lighter. I got the speaker in a swap. I just went and looked it over, and I don't see anything on it that tells me which Kappalite it is. For that matter, though I know it is a Kappalite, there is no model name on it anywhere that I could see. On the back of the magnet there is the Emminence name, address, and website, but no model identifier. Not even the word "Kappalite" anywhere. I'm hoping I'm just overlooking the identifier. If someone can point out where the model id is, what to look for, or how it can be identified, please let me know.

The LF is not what you want. Even less high frequencies than the regular Kappalite.

Chuck, you are correct. There is no model identification at all on the one I have either. I would like to know the model as well. Anyone have an idea? Thanks!
