Ok, so I got a guitar on the way. I'm getting a bullet bar for starters.
I use GHS nickle strings on my 6 string guits. What am I gonna put on my MSA Classic Super Sustain SD-10? I'll buy a couple of sets of recommended with extra .11s until I know what I want.
What say you?
Herb Steiner's thumb pick looks suspiciously like a Fred Kelley Delrin Medium Slick Pick in the pictures on his site. I like Kelly picks but I'm not keen on buying 24 of them on line. I'd rather experiment. Ernie Ball I don't like. The one Lloyd Green video I've seen shows him using what appears to be an enormous thumb pick. Other than that I'm open.
I had no idea that metal finger picks came in the variety that they do. What? .25? Brass? Stainless? Kelley Plastic?
What say you?
I got a Goodrich 120 already. I got lots of amps.

| Have to echo Ernest's recommendation on the picks. Jeff got me stated on his picks and at first I did not care for them but after staying with them, I don't want anything else. Strings... George L's. Another preference of Jeff's that I have stuck with for years. |

Another vote for the Jeff Newman picks!
Jeffan College phone: (704)543-6059 I'd recommend getting on their mailing list, as some of the product info is not completely up to date on the web site.
Many of the steelers I know use the blue Herco "flex 52" thumb pick. they're okay, but I like the large white National.
Don't be afraid to experiment, especially with strings! FWIW: I like Jagwires, the PF set.

Daniel, get in touch with Fred Justice. He has a variety of picks and will sell you as few or as many as you need. I'm with you, I can't stand those huge thumb picks, I like the orange Fred Kelley Speed picks, myself. Here's a link to his store. As I recall, Fred uses the Kelly Speed picks, too. He's an awesome player. Great guy to deal with, too.
