Merry X-mas to me!! From .4 watts to 4 watts, a couple of different gain stages and crystal clean if you want/need it to be. Nothin' but tubey goodness drips out of this baby.
The perfect "bedroom" or "apartment" amp. Might not be good for PSG but for lap steelers who want a little "attitude" in their amp, this fits the bill. Oh yeah, it loves pedals too.
PERFECT "BEDROOM" AMP

Cool Amp
You done well. I like the clean side, wish the manufacturers would focus more on clean. I have a home sudio, and have been looking for a good, clean, low volume amp that I could could use for guitar and steel. I keep hoping Ken Fox comes out with a low watt small recording amp.

the 5D3 circuit
You have any pics Ken and a price? I kinda figured you would or already had something similar.
Nothing yet. I forgot to get shots of the completed chassis. Jeff was the same fellow with serial #0002,, 5D6B I built. He also has done the MP3 that is on my website (Chilly Winds). I restored his 1952 Deluxe chassis and also built this 1954 for him. I had done one about a year before. That was actually an interesting project. It came as an old home made amp that had a home made board and chassis. It was in bad shape. I determined the homemade amp was in fact a copy of the 5D4. I had Mojotone reproduce the board for it and rebuilt the amp. I will ask Jeff to get some final shots of his amp to me. His amp will use the the chassis and narrow panel cabinet. As no one is reproducing the smaller 5D3 chassis that was our best choice for his amp. We get a little larger cabinet with the 5E3 as well.
No idea on price yet. I have the spreadsheet almost done. I have to add the cabinet and change a few small items on it yet. I want to do the same lacquered cab as the 5D6B amp we offer. The amp will also have 4 inputs (unlike the original that had 3). The #2 input on channel 1 can be used to jumper channels, if desired.
Here is the old amp we restored for Jim Bivens, a local fellow here in Georgia. Jim found the amp at a garage sale. It was covered over in wood grain self adhesive shelving paper! What a mess it was to clean up!!!
