So, you are running really well on your brand new pedal steel when the RKR sticks in postion and causes you to crash and burn on your ride. What kind of warranties or guaranties can you expect for a new guitar from a manufacturer? What from a dealer? Of course personal sales are not expected to have any guarantees.

Thanks;

Sherman

The brand or model does not matter. The three guitars I have owned have all worked well right from the store or from the manufacturer, so I never had to face this. I was just wondering what is the general consensus among manufacturers.

Thanks

Sherman

My Carter manual says it came with a 1 year warranty. My Williams manual doesn't say and neither does their website.

I would have thought the manufacturer would have provided warranty information with your purchase.
When I bought a new steel a couple of years back, there was a slight problem with the guitar. The maker paid for the parts to be shipped both ways and gave me compensation for my trouble. I hope everything works out just as well for you.

Arch.

M steels are guaranteed for life against workmanship or parts breakage. No steel is perfect.

What a lot of steel owners overlook is that Factory warrantees may be voided if non-Factory authorized repairmen go under the hood to make repairs. Anyone can call themselves a steel guitar mechanic.

I think Calvin Wally handles all the warranty work in that area Laughing

A warranty does not state that something will never happen to a guitar, it's a mechanical device and for the most part manual anything can break,stick,jam or come loose 70,000 dollars vehicles do. Therefore I think a 4-6000 dollar guitar will have its problems and most manufactures really do a great job but things happen, and usually right when you don't need it to. omi... And most of all a warranty is only worth its person who is standing behind it.....

Sherman,
MSA's warranty on Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro is 5 years, parts and labor (also transferrable). Chris Lucker, what you said is very true.
