I didn't know if some of you Dawn Sears fans
knew that she is going to host the Mid-nite Jamboree Saturday night on WSM 650.
She was so kind to ask me to play steel for
her.
Dawn is such a great singer and person that I know you will enjoy listen to her. If you can't make it out to the Jamboree well tune us in on the radio, WSM-AM at 12 o'clock mid-nite, Saturday night, Dec. 7th.

John I'm glad to know she is still singing.
I do remember her duet with Tracy Byrd.

John thank you for mentioning Dawn Sears, she does not get enough credit, she is a great singer.

I have 2 of her CD's and John is there playing his little fingers to the bone.

If you like country music and great steel guitar spend the money and get them. She just knocks me right out.

Great show John...My wife and I were driving back to Arkansas from Iowa and WSM was coming in loud and clear.. We had just finished doing the Night Sky Opry show and were back stage talking about the upcoming mini steel guitar convention in Siloam Springs and I told the people that I got to meet my favorite steel player and his wife at the 2000 convention in Siloam Springs.. Since I play steel, they wanted to know who my favorite steel player was and of course I told them John Hughey. Then got in the car and headed for Arkansas, turned on the radio to WSM and their you were..Sure enjoyed the show and your steel playing.. Dawn did a great job also..Vance Monday

I have long felt that Dawn Sears was one of the best singers Nashville had ever produced. I looked forward to each Vince Gill performance not only because of Vince, but also because I knew that John Hughey and Dawn Sears would turn the evening into a memorable occasion. As I've mentioned on my website, she is incomparable.

Hi John,

I'm a friend of Hugh Johnson's- was actually pastor to his mother Shirley and sister June for several years. And Tony King is a junior-high school buddy of mine. Met you and the rest of the band backstage in Fayetteville, NC 8 or 9 years ago when I sneaked in with the Johnson family. Thanks for all the good playin' and I hope we cross paths again somewhere down the road- maybe you can show me some licks this time. Give Hughie my best when you see him. Peace!
