Some guys like to plug in the Volume Pedal after the effects in order to chop off the echo.
I plug in before as a matter of convenience.
Other that that I would run the 750 power amp turned up. Run the tubefex levels very low to start to diminish noise..
Its nice get it pre-wired and powered in a rack for easy set up.
I would run it in stereo, assuming you are running two speakers.
Then just experiment.. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

Fred - I set the 2 volume controls on the back to about 8, then control my master volume from the TubeFex (or Profex) .... plug it up, guitar/volume pedal/into the Tubefex.... then stereo outs to the DPC then stereo out to 2 speakers ! _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I used this exact set up, the one thing I didn't like about the 750 was you can't control you volume, you need to keep a good signal going in to the Transtubefex, but not to hot,
distortion will happen..and the same with the Profex, I have both, I use the transtubefex out on the job, and profex around the house, or if I'm playing out of town, this is a great set up Frederic, I use a DPC 1400 for a long time, lots of power, and volume controls were on the front of the amp... what kind of cabinets do you have?? I had some Peavey cabs, tweed, but were big...but sounded great!!! I know you'll be happy with what your doing, might take a little time to tweak it in..let us know how your doing with all this... |

Thanks for jumping in David. I'm currently (eargerly !) waiting for a 15" peavey cabinet. You're right about the volume in the back of the 750.
I'll have to find the correct amount of input in both the transtubefex and the 750. _________________ Fred

Fred, if I set the volume controls on my 750 to about 8, I can then use the input control on the Profex II between about 3 and 5 and have enough volume for just about any gig -- very powerful amps, especially into 2 1501-4's !! _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I think you're right Paddy, that's more or less what I had in mind. The final answer, when my cabinet will put his nose at my home. For the moment, my Franklin is still playing through my Fender combo 2x12 _________________ Fred

I've just received today a Peavey Nashville 115E cabinet with a Black Widow speaker in it.
My rig in now as follows:
Franklin D10
Hilton Low profile
Peavey Transtubefex Preamp
Peavey DPC 750 Amp
Peavey 115E Cabinet
It's a killer especially on the C6 neck!
I'm just bound to adjust up trebles in my presets since the 15" normally damps 'em.
My tone will remain the same, It'll be just a good bit fuller. _________________ Fred

Good choice on the 115E -- I have 2 of them and have used that rig for about 15 years! _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Yes David, I'm just running one cab. I have the opportunity to buy the pair but I know that I'll never transport both on a gig. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm on the lazy side concerning weight carried!
Paddy, I agree with you: it seems a rustic but very good choice! _________________ Fred
