Lollar says his are better than the original, I remember someone on the Forum selling some by VIntage Vibe...
The originals in mine sound pretty good, but I'm curious if anyone else agrees with Lollar that his are "superior" to the originals. Or any other after market p/us that anyone has tried.

I've never used a Lollar so I can't say except the reputation is first class..I do have a rewind from Vintage Vibe and it sounds the same as the original.I also have one of the Charlie Christian 6 string pups.I'm very happy with Pete's work and the price is very good.

I have a pair of Lollar 10's on my E-Harp and they sound great.

Lollar's are great. I built a few guitars with them.

I have Lollar Stringmaster pups and a Vintage Vibe custom Charlie Christian humbucker in two different lap steels. I think the quality of both pickups are excellent.

I needed a pickup for my 55' Stringmaster a few years ago and just had him rewind the bad one. It sounds great!

I've got an 8-string Vintage Vibe Stringmaster-type in the neck position on my twin-pickup lap steel, and it sounds geat - never had a chance to compare it to the real thing, though.
Incidentially, in the bridge position on that lap steel I have a Lollar, but not the Stringmaster, it's a Lollar Chicago Steel...

I totally rely on Lollar his pickups. I can not tell the originals are better than Lollars, but the Lollars are kind of best quality new pickups. At least I get impression that Lollar knows what is needed for a lapsteel pickup or regular electric guitar.

I also have the impression that the Lollars have a bit more high definition, or brightness, and it works very well with the tone control.

I'd think better than the originals would be a hard claim to make. That said, I've never been disappointed with anything from either Lollar or Vintage Vibe, both great winders at the top of their craft.

Jason Lollar has supplied many coils for the horseshoe
Pickups I've put together, and he winds them to the impedance I ask for.

I have originals with original working windings from 1955-57 I can sell for the same price as the Lollar copies, maybe less if you you trade in your dead ones. Pm me if you're interested.
