The Steel Guitar Forum

During the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vagas December 6 through December 15 I will be appearing with Danny Hooper http://www.dannyhooper.com at The Orleans Hotel and Casino. I had a few forum members drop by last year and I hope to see some again this year. It is an evening of mostly classic country. We will be playing from 9:00 till 2:00 nightly.

Smokey,Ill be working downtown at the Fremont Experience with Danny Estacado..check the post above ..you can catch me from 5 till 7pm outside there..then we play inside the Las Vegas Club Ballroom from 9-12..I can catch your last set for sure on the way home.. Fred La Rose and Lisa Hewit are due to play at the Barbary Coast on East Flamingo too ..I think they play late. Will let you know ..take care and see ya soon..say hello to Danny Bill in Vegas

If you have a chance to see the Danny Hooper show with Smokey on steel, don't miss it. It's excellent. Danny is an outstanding entertainer. And the show is "pure country" no matter what they play. When my wife and I saw them here last year, we agreed it was the best show, bar none, that we had seen in many years. And Smokey is one of those friendly guys you can talk to after the show. Oh yeah, he plays great steel guitar too!

I hear tell that Fort Worth's own Jake Hooker along with Dicky Overby and Bobby Flores will be playing in Vegas for the NFR also, so check them out too!

Just three more days and the rodeo and country music fun begins. I am told that it is the second busiest week in Las Vegas.
