This morning I turned on my NV112 and I got a loud hum followed by radio talk. I did have the chord connected to my steel, which could have acted as an antena. Has this happened to anyone else? I turned off the amp and turned it back on and the radio sounds were gone. _________________ Mullen, G2, D10, Peavey Nashville 112, Roland Cube 80XL, DD3, Goodrich L10 VP. |

I used to get CB radio thru a Bandit I was playing thru at the club all the time . It was because there was a CB radio shop next door and also some of the truckers had powerful linears on their radios. It came thru like it was a receiver . I haven't had that happen in a long time . Your amp may have just locked in on a certain frequency at the right time .If you are near any towers that might be the reason . There is probably a filter that can take care of that . |

This happens from time to time to me too and I live in the middle of nowhere. I have gotten commercial radio and Police/Fire/CB/Ham mostly through old BF Fenders. |

I got rid of that problem by replacing all the in-put wires with shielded cable. easy fix.. |

"RFI" can have many potential points to get in. Some are easy to fix and others will never get fixed.
Reverb pans are one source of "entry" for RFI as they are not completely shielded (the bottom is usually open). A bad ground connection in a cable (or unshielded cable) is another point. Guitar pickups are another potential source, the unshielded wiring in a guitar, and on and on. |

In addition to checking/fixing connections and shielding, ferrite beads on internal cabling will in most cases eliminate RF interference. |
