My buddy up in Tifton builds these as a novelty, never sold one yet.

By golly they sound pretty awesome. This one was built from fine oak pew wood from the old Tifton First Baptist Church.

Though everyone would enjoy taking a look at this one:

I can hear the swamp from here. Wonder how it would sound through that little BR-9. Winking Are the strings sitting on the can like a bridge or is the bridge in the can?

The can is the bridge as I recall. Sounds great acoustically. Like Dave said, you can smell the soup when you drill the holes!

He is doing one for John Fogerty, should be a hoot. Will post pictures when he gets it done! I gave him some gator hide for the headstock.

If anybody wants Dave to build you one just email me via the forum I will give you his phone number and or email. He is a cool guy and will do these at a great price! He would be thrilled to hear from any of you!!

Dave is a fellow musician who owns a small music store in Tifton and works installing sound systems and such.

He does these in his spare time and has never sold the first one yet! They are very unique and sound really great to boot. He is building one for me to take to steel shows in the future.

You mean like this....?

These cigar-box steels sound a lot better than they look. Cheap and nasty, but they work, and they have a long tradition amongst blues players. Notice the socket wrench bit for a tone bar. Shocked
