I had Mojotone develop the board for the 1954, 5D3 about a year ago. I had done one of these for a friend and was just amazed how how sweet it sounded for guitar and harp. Should be a super lap steel amp as well.

I am using the 5E3 chassis. Same except one extra input jack. Channel one normal is a single jack. I have a parallel jack for it to allow channel jumpering with a small cord.

Next week I will be building a 5F8A( Tweed era high power Twin). It will have brown Tolex, like the last production model in 1960. Also a 15" Jensen Neo speaker. This will be an 80-100 watt range Twin,15" speaker and a total weight of around 40 or more pounds. The Tweed era circuit for the Twin is much like the favored circuit mod for the Twin Reverb for pedal steel application!

Nice work!
What is the difference between this and the 5E3?
I have owned a 5E3 clone and it sounded very very good.
A little more clean headroom and it would have been the perfect guitar amp.

One difference is the paraphase inverter. Same as in my 5D6B circuit. This seems to be a warmer tone to my ear. A favorite also among harp players, from what I have read on the net.

I have a 5E3 clone and love it but the 5D3 is warmer.
